There is no obvious answer to this, but a refreshing of the viewing card by a Sky employee on the phone helped for a few episodes before it started over. ![]() A check in Recordings/Manage/Downloading shows 1% download initially, jumps to 518%, continues to 675% and then disappears (downloads only show if they do not fail, and it fails eventually. And, yet, still only allowing me to view 50% of the episode. The strange phenomenon of a download seemingly working until 50%, stalling, resuming once the call to resume is made by me and then jumping to 70% and 90% before closing the loop at 100%. Whether or not any of this has to do with ads being tailored (I have turned mine off over a year ago, because of a tip by another user, and I only download in SD by default as I am not bothered about quality).Ģ. ![]() Another obvious one is that busy periods can cause broadband speeds to dip and it may not be conducive to big downloads. This is possibly down to various issues, of which the ISP using a technique by which the individual user/household does not have a unique IP address and Sky not offering downloads to those of us who might appear to be confusable with someone else (who has the same IP address). The issue everyone has- that On Demand downloads frequently and fatally fail due to "network problems" or "technical issues" or (ahem) "no subscription". Well, I absolutely cannot fault the individuals (here and on the phone) who have been assisting me with two seemingly separate issues:ġ. ![]()
